Practising more, but your tone still isn't opening up? Shoulder or neck tension that keeps coming back? Running out of breath on a phrase you already know well?
From Tension to Tone
A five-week live program with small group, to clear airy tone and play with ease.
For any flute player, student or adult, working alongside your current teacher, not replacing your lessons.

19 August–16 September • Replays included
Save my spot - NZD $297What you'll experience by week 1
In your first live session, you'll play, notice what's happening in your body, then play again after we work through one movement lesson together—and hear the difference for yourself.
You'll also get your first short movement video to revisit through the week, and your first Pocket Tool: a two-minute cue you can use before you even pick up your flute.
"My shoulder used to be very painful when playing the flute. I now can practise without shoulder pain. I also can breathe fuller and my sound is so much better now."
— YuXin
I know this journey personally. Â
I’m Dr Melody Lin—a flautist, teacher and Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner with a Doctor of Musical Arts. I stopped playing the flute for three years because of my own shoulder pain. I found my way back through the Feldenkrais Method, and I believe the body is the first instrument.
Why this works
Tone doesn't start at your lips. It starts with how your whole body organises itself around the breath. Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons retrains that organisation, so your ease and tone can show up reliably, not just on your good days.

“It is like my body just magically know what to do and go to the more aligned position when sitting to play the flute.”Â
